Enriching STEM classroom experience by transforming knowledge into practice . . .

Internships can be defined as work-based learning providing credit/noncredit and paid/unpaid experiences. STEM ENGAGED LEARNING works together with STEM students, faculty and partners to:

  • Increase the number of internship and other engaged learning opportunities for students
  • Enhance student readiness for the STEM workforce
  • Strengthen and develop relationships with community partners 

ENGAGING STEM STUDENTS
Develop/enhance technical skills; explore career choices available in the area; connect with industry professionals and possibly secure full-time employment; find an entry point for positions requiring security clearance.

ENGAGING STEM EMPLOYERS
Contribute to education skills of students; expand human resources; meet organizational objectives; and recruit full-time employers.

ENGAGING STEM FACULTY
Enrich the quality of education; connect/collaborate with community partners; take advantage of externship opportunities; and increase student awareness.
