International Student Admissions

Anne Arundel Community College "meets the needs of a diverse and global community by anticipating and providing responsive, accessible, high quality programs and resources for the economic, intellectual, social, cultural, and workforce development of our expanding community."           Source: Strategic Plan: 2015@ AACC.QUAL.edu

Welcome to international student admissions at Anne Arundel Community College! We are dedicated to offering a quality education to international students who wish to complete a degree for an immediate career or prepare to transfer to a four-year college or university. AACC is a fully accredited, public, two-year institution offering college credit programs leading to an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science and Associate of Arts in Teaching degrees.

We are committed to meeting the educational needs of our community, including those whose native language is not English. These students include United States citizens, non-US citizens or individuals granted permanent residency in the United States by the United States Citizens and Immigration Services (USCIS). We also respond to the educational needs of citizens of other countries temporarily visiting, working or studying in Anne Arundel County. Only those students who have been awarded an F-1 visa or F-1 visa status are international students. Immigrants who are legal permanent residents, asylees, refugees or with non-immigrant visa status are not considered international students.

For students whose ability in English is not yet sufficient to succeed in credit college courses, the college provides a comprehensive preparatory program in English as a Second Language (ESL) through continuing education. Students must take the AACC placement tests or submit a satisfactory TOEFL score prior to course registration.

The college values diversity and the rich experiences international students bring to our learning community. Your presence offers an opportunity for our students to gain a broader awareness of the diverse community and world we share. If you are currently in the United States and would like to visit the campus and meet with the International Student Adviser in the Admission Office, schedule an appointment by calling 410-777-2677. An appointment is strongly recommended and guarantees that you will be able to meet with the International Student Adviser and have your questions answered in a timely manner. The Admission Office is located in room 100 in the Student Services Center (SSVC) at the Arnold, Maryland campus.
