Student Loan Entrance & Exit Counseling

If you prefer to complete your Entrance or Exit Counseling in person, please contact our office to make an appointment with a financial aid counselor.

Direct Loan Entrance Counseling
If this is the first time you have borrowed a Federal Direct Loan, you must complete a Direct Loan Entrance Counseling session. To complete the entrance counseling session online, go to: http://www.studentloans.gov/. At the end of the session, they will transmit your results to AACC.

Stafford/Direct Loan Exit Counseling
If you have borrowed a Federal Stafford Loan or a Federal Direct Loan from Anne Arundel Community College and you will be graduating, withdrawing, or taking a semester off from the college, you must complete a Loan Exit Counseling session. The exit session is designed to make you aware of your repayment responsibilities, familiarize you with your lender(s), give you examples of repayment schedules, and to answer any questions you may have regarding your loan(s). To complete the exit counseling session online, go to: http://www.studentloans.gov/. At the end of the session, they will transmit your results to AACC. For information on consolidating your loans, contact the Federal Student Aid Portal, your lender, or the Federal Direct Loan Consolidation Information Center.
