(Some state Senators and Delegates require a FAFSA by March 1. Others do not. Some require additional application forms instead of or in addition to the FAFSA)

Merit-Based Programs

• Distinguished Scholar Award (Apply during junior year of high school.)
• Distinguished Scholar Community College Transfer Program (Apply by March 1 during your final year at AACC.)

Career-Based Programs

• Charles W. Riley Emergency Medical Services Program (To apply, you must be an active career or volunteer firefighter, ambulance or rescue squad member.)
• Janet L. Hoffman Loan Assistance Repayment Program (LARP) (Benefits public service employees in state or local government or nonprofit agencies in Maryland that serve low income or underserved residents. Apply after you graduate from college and begin working for an eligible agency.)
• Non-Resident Nursing Student Tuition Reduction Program (To apply, you must be accepted into a nursing program.)
• Workforce Shortage Student Assistance Grant Program (Benefits students who plan to work in the following career/occupational fields: childcare, human services, teaching, nursing, physical and occupational therapy, and public service. Apply while you are in college or during your senior year of high school.)

Unique Populations

• Afghanistan and Iraq Conflicts Scholarship (Benefits veterans and current members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their Dependents)
• Edward T. Conroy Memorial Award (Benefits members of the following groups or their surviving dependents: disabled or deceased Veterans, Vietnam War POW/MIAs, disabled or deceased public safety employees and volunteers, and 9/11/2001 victims.)
