Boating and Sailing

AACC offers both boating safety courses, required under Maryland law as well as recreational boating courses.

Get ready now for the upcoming spring/summer boating season by signing up for the Maryland Basic Boating course!

BOATING SAFETY
Maryland law states that anyone born on or after July 1, 1972, must have a certificate of boating safety education before operating any motorized vessel. Both courses CFC 505 and HTH 345 qualify.

HTH-345 - Maryland Basic Boating
Cover types of vessels and their safe operation. Discuss state and federal regulations, weather and types of waterways. Minimum age of student 12 years. Students 12-16 years of age must be accompanied by a registered adult. CEUs awarded.

CFC-505 - Boating Safety and Seamanship
Provided by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 15-1, this class enables the beginning boater to become more proficient in boating and helps prevent accidents. Meets the Maryland Boating Safety Education Certification requirement for individuals born after 1972. Students 12-15 years of age must be accompanied by a registered adult.

Learn the best way to finance and buy your next new or used powerboat or sailboat. From radar to radios and trailers to chargers, learn about the accessories necessary for your nautical adventures.

RPR-304 - Engine Repair Made Easy
Learn about the mechanics of inboard diesels and outboard motors. Repair your own engine and save money.

OCA-367 - Do It Yourself Boat Repair
Skip the expense of a boatyard mechanic by learning how to do your own simple repairs on power or sail boats.
