School of Continuing and Professional Studies

The School of Continuing and Professional Studies (CAPS) is meeting community needs by offering courses that improve your personal and professional life. From parenting to plumbing, health to hospitality, tennis to teaching, CAPs administers a unique array of both credit and noncredit programs.

- Personal enrichment courses including art, history, recreation, home computing

- Job skills and professional certifications including occupational skills, licensures, short-term job training and information technologies

- Basic skills courses and G.E.D. prep

- English as a second language

- Course for seniors held at the college and area senior centers, the Peer Learning Partnership, The Guild for LIFE, and new LifeStages life transition courses from AACC's Center on Aging 

- Youth courses and summer camps including Pioneer sports camps, Youth Dance Instruction and Kindermusik.

- Courses for parents through The Parenting Center at AACC

- Courses just for women through AACC's Women's Institute

- Hospitality and culinary arts training through the Hospitality, Culinary Arts and Tourism (HCAT) Institute which includes degree and certificate programs, continuing professional education, and noncredit cooking, baking and wine courses.

- Teaching and child care courses through the Teacher Education and Child Care (TEACH) Institute which includes degree and certificate programs, teacher professional development, state approved child care training and contract training with Anne Arundel County Public Schools.

- Instructional conferences often held in partnership with businesses and community organizations.
