Teach for Us

Thank you for your interest in Anne Arundel Community College.

Course development and recruitment of qualified instructors is ongoing in Continuing Education. New courses are considered with an eye to potential demand, quality, cost and availability of facilities.

All continuing education instructors are part-time, appointed for a specific teaching assignment. Your salary will depend upon the nature of the course, your qualifications and experience, and the length of the course.

Noncredit courses range in length anywhere from 2 to 80 hours in multiple session formats. There is also flexibility in schedule and location, classes meet during the day, evening or on weekends. The instructor’s preference can usually be accommodated. There are facilities on campus for on-line courses. We also use many off-campus sites.

Once approved and scheduled, noncredit courses for each term are advertised in the Schedule of Noncredit Classes which is distributed three times a year to all homes in Anne Arundel County. Courses are also advertised on the College's Web site. Deadlines for review of new course proposals are generally, March 1 for fall, August 1 for spring and December 1 for summer.

Logistical support is available to you once your course has been accepted. For example, your program developer can order textbooks through the College Store, if required. Technology aids to assist in teaching as well as reproduction of course materials are also available.

Grades are not given in most noncredit courses, but attendance rosters must be kept. There are instances when a student has successfully completed or attained certain skills where then can earn Continuing Education Units or Letters of Recognition.
