Job Openings - Hourly and Contractual Staff


Department: Counseling Advising and Retention Services—Employment Services

Pay Rate:  $13 per hour

Hours:  24 hours per week

Position Status:  Hourly with no benefits

Duties: The Employment Services  Assistant provides support to the staff at Employment Services at The Career and Transfer Resource Center.  In addition, the Employment Services Assistant provides a full range of  support as needed with faculty, staff, students and employers on related business associated with the department.  The Employment Services Assistant also manages the job database, monitors Employment Services website and communicates with constituents in a timely and confidential manner.


Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and three years of support experience or Associate’s degree and five years of support experience.   

Demonstrated intermediate level proficiency in MS Office Suite applications including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Internet and database operations, and other micro computer software applications. Ability to type accurately at 55 wpm using a personal computer.  Applicant will be required to pass a technical proficiency test.

Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with students, faculty, staff, employers, governmental agencies, community organizations and the public.

Highly motivated with ability to work well with minimal supervision, attention to details and meet deadlines. Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to prioritize workload and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, including a demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Ability to work a flexible schedule including day, evening, and weekend hours to accommodate the needs of the department.
