STEM Instructors

Critical Thinking and Communications Instructor

Description:   Seeking dynamic and experienced adjunct faculty to teach a Critical Thinking and Workplace Communication class to STEM students. An online STEM Readiness course provides the learning outcomes and foundational material for the courses. Instructors must provide supplemental materials to demonstrate higher-order, Critical Thinking and Workplace Communication in the real world. Material provide should align to students selected STEM pathway and may include case studies, activities, presentations, group projects, and guest speakers.   Instructors must be able to deliver face-to-face instruction in whole group and individual settings.  Classroom environment is multi-level and multi-content; students will work both independently and in groups.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree.

Minimum 2 years’ experience teaching adults, preferably in a community college or undergraduate setting.

Experience teaching in both face to face and online environments strongly preferred.

Must be organized and be able to teach reading, writing, critical thinking, workplace communication and professional skills to students on varied learning levels within the same class.

Experience working with diverse populations preferred.

STEM Math Skills Instructor

Description:  Seeking dynamic and experienced adjunct faculty to teach Mathematical Skills classes to STEM students. Instructors will cover topics from arithmetic to basic algebra. Additional course topics include: study skills, time management, problem solving, and critical thinking. An online STEM Readiness course provides the learning outcomes and foundational material for the courses.  Instructors must be able to deliver face-to-face instruction in whole group and individual settings.  Classroom environment is multi-level and multi-content; students will work both independently and in groups. Instructor must be able to manage a classroom where students are working independently and at an individualized pace through the course material.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Math, Math Education, Science, Engineering, or related fields.

Minimum 2 years’ experience teaching math to adults, preferably in a community college or undergraduate setting.

Experience teaching in both face to face and online environments strongly preferred.

Must be organized and be able to teach math skills to students on varied learning levels within the same class.

Must be able to manage a classroom where students are working independently and at an individualized pace through the course material.

Experience working with diverse populations and academically lower-level students preferred.

STEM Professional Skills Instructor

Description: Seeking dynamic and experienced adjunct faculty to teach Professional Skills classes to STEM students. Instructors will guide students through the job search process with intense focus on interview skills, professional image, and crafting an effective resume. Additional course topics include: customer service, confidentiality, teamwork, organizational skills and time management. An online STEM Readiness course provides the learning outcomes and foundational material for the courses. Instructors must be able to deliver face-to-face instruction in whole group and individual settings. Classroom environment is multi-level and multi-content; students will work both independently and in groups.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree

Professional experience in the areas of interview and resume writing skills, and professional image.

Professional experience in the areas of customer service, confidentiality, teamwork, organizational skills and time management.

Minimum 2 years’ experience teaching adults, preferably in a community college or undergraduate setting.
