Pre-Apprenticeship Electrical Instructor

Duties 
Teach basic electrical wiring skills to students between the ages of 17-24 at the Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) training facility in Laurel, Maryland.

Required Qualifications  

  • Journeyman license with related teaching and work experience.
  • OSHA 10 Certification.

Hours 
7:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., Monday through Friday; Full-time 40 hours per week

Salary
$50,000/annual salary

Electrical Helper Instructor

Duties
Provide classroom and lab instruction in Emergency First Aid and CPR procedures, Electrical Safety, Licensing and permits, Introduction of NEC Code, Hand and Power Tools Usage, Residential and Commercial wiring, OSHA-10 regulations, Measurement skills, Basic math calculations related to electrical, Employability Skills.  Assist with curriculum development for improvement based on industry needs and changes.

Qualifications

  • Certification in Electrical (Journeymen or Master).
  • At least three to five (3-5) years of related practical work experience.
  • Teaching experience with diverse populations.
  • Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with students, faculty, staff, business/industry and the public.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Day and evening hours

Adult Basic Skills Instructor

Duties 
Teach elementary skills to GED (reading, math, social studies, science and language arts) to provide instruction to incarcerated adults at Maryland correctional facilities.

Required Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related fields.
  • Minimum of three years teaching experience.

Hours 
Monday-Thursday or Monday-Friday; day-time hours

Salary
$24 per hour

HVAC Instructor

Duties
Are you a dedicated, enthusiastic HVAC professional ready to make a difference by educating students who are eager to train as HVAC technicians? We’re seeking a HVAC professional with experience in residential and commercial systems, preferably also with some teaching experience. Salary is competitive. A willingness to work a flexible schedule with both day and evening classes. As a HVAC instructor, you will train students in your field of expertise using accepted and approved instructional methodology.

Qualifications

  • Have completed a state approved HVAC program (current license as a Journeyman or Master).
  • At least three to five (3-5) years of related practical work experience in residential and commercial HVAC systems.
  • Some level of teaching or training experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of servicing, troubleshooting, and installation of residential and light commercial HVAC systems.
  • PC literate.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.

$30.00/hourly

Duties 
Teach résumé writing, interviewing skills, job search and job keeping skills to incarcerated adults.

Required Qualifications  

  • Experience in Workforce Development, job coaching.

Monday-Thursday, day-time hours.

$24 per hour.

Teach Microsoft Office Word and Excel to incarcerated adults in a Maryland Correctional Facility.

Required Qualifications

  • Microsoft Office Certification or Microsoft proficient level.
  • Minimum of two years teaching experience.

Hours 
Monday-Thursday, day-time hours.

Salary
$24 per hour.
