Architecture and Interior Design

The Architecture and Interior Design Department is seeking interior design adjunct faculty with strong background in residential and commercial design, space planning, kitchen design, interior materials, and methods and interior detailing.

  • Master's degree in Interior Design or Architecture, or practicing professional.

Architecture adjunct faculty with strong background in AutoCAD, Revit, drawing and design, materials, and methods of construction are needed as well.

  • Master's degree in Architecture or practicing professional.

Engineering

Mechatronics

The Mechatronics program has a need for adjunct instructors in Mechatronics/Automation and Industrial Maintenance. 

Program curriculum includes PLCs, Pneumatics/Hydraulics, Mechanical Systems, Robotics, Solidworks/AutoCad and AC/DC theory. Classes are very hands on and use industrial-grade equipment such as  FESTO trainers, Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs, Arduino microcontrollers, VEX systems, and LAB volt motor trainers.  The program has been in place since 2013, so course objectives have been established.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Automated Systems, Electro-Mechanical Technology, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Robotics Technology, or related field is desired but not mandatory. Work experience may be substituted.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in a related field is required.
  • Strong oral communication skills, professional attitude and desire to help others is a must.

Engineering Technology

  • Provide classroom and/or lab instruction in telecommunications, computer maintenance and repair (A+), or computer-aided design (CAD).
  • Flexible hours.
  • Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred.
  • Industry experience required; five years preferred.
  • One year teaching experience highly desired.

Science

Astronomy

We are accepting applications in:

  • Introduction to Astronomy.
  • The Cosmic Frontier.
  • Stars and Stellar Systems.
  • The Solar System.
  • Life in the Universe.

We expect to expand our need for astronomy lab professors in the near future. These sections meet 7-10 p.m. at the AACC Observatory on the Arnold campus. The observatory has seven permanently installed student telescopes under a sliding roof. In addition to the 8- to 11-inch telescopes, our equipment also includes narrow and solar filters, a CCD camera, internet-live PCs, binoculars, and more. We are working to acquire a spectroscope. In the event of poor weather, hands-on or computer astrophysics labs are held.

Computer Science is seeking individuals who are able to teach face-to-face daytime, introductory computer courses.  Limited evening and weekend positions are available too.

Computer Information Systems

Seeking adjunct faculty with strong technical backgrounds in one or more of the following fields:

  • Computer and Information Technology entry-level introductory courses.
  • Computer Applications.
  • Microsoft Office 2016 Applications – Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook and Microsoft Office Specialist Certification.

Applicants should have:

  • Proficiency in the use of technology in the classroom.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Teaching or training experience.
  • Master’s degree required.
  • Certifications, online teaching or technical proficiency preferred.
  • Combination of industry and instructional experience desired.

Cybersecurity, Networking and Digital Forensics

Seeking adjunct faculty with strong technical backgrounds in one or more of the following fields:

  • Windows 2012 Server and Networking.
  • Linux/Unix/Red Hat Server and Networking.
  • Information Assurance and Cybersecurity.
