Electronics Degree Program

Award: Associate of Applied Sciences degree, A.A.S. (code AAS.EGR.ELEC)

Purpose: To provide a two-year degree in electronics, allowing a graduate to enter the work force as an electronics technician. Electronic technicians assemble, install, maintain and repair electronic equipment, such as office machines, robots, transportation and communication equipment. Entry into the program requires no previous electronic experience.

We also offer an Electronics Certificate program which consists of just 6 electronics courses, all of which can be applied to this degree.

Graduates can transfer to Capitol College in Laurel, Md. to get a bachelor’s degree in electronics technology, however, this Electronics program differs from a traditional four-year electrical engineering program -- see Engineering Transfer program

Range of Occupations:

• Electronics technician • Computer service technician • Electronics communications technician • Field service technician • Instrumentation and control technician
