WIRING TECHNICIAN (LETTER OF RECOGNITION)

This program helps train you for a career installing and repairing cable wiring and equipment as would be found in voice, data, computer and communication systems.  Learn the techniques of splicing, interconnecting, soldering, mechanical assembly and schematic reading. Get an introduction to the use and operation of basic electrical measurement instruments, components and systems, and basic PC applications. This sequence is for those looking for a practical skills area of study that has a minimum of math and analysis.

Estimated minimum cost of the program is: $949 (tuition and fees are subject to change.)

Students should apply to the Records and Registration office for the Letter of Recognition after they have completed the couse requirements (shown below). A grade of C or better is required in each course.

(just 3 courses required)

EET 118......Electronic Hardware and Assembly Techniques              4

EET 141......Telecommunications Wiring Laboratory                          1

CSI 112*.....Computing and Information Technology  or

CSI 110.......Computer Literacy  or

CSI 113........Introduction to Computers                                             4-3   

                                                                          Total credit hours   8-9

* CSI 112 is the preferred course; however, CSI 110 may be appropriate in some cases.
