Wetlands Creation Projects
Industrial Reclamation
Wetlands can also be used to reclaim undesirable land, such as landfills and drainage ponds, remove pollutants from the ground, and filter tainted drainage water.
Constructed wetlands are particularly desirable when there are opportunities to convert managed industrial sites in low maintenance habitats that also address water quality issues. These particular wetlands are situated atop landfills and can reduce maintenance costs and treat stormwater discharge while providing habitat for common and rare species. Other applications include the chemical treatment of process water and the use of wetlands to help cool and disperse process water.
