This project is to be completed with the Microsoft WORD Lab using the skills you have learned. 

You are to prepare an application for the first job you would like to attain when you are finished with your college education.  In performing this task you are to consider your two- or four-year educational program completed and you are preparing for the next step in your work-related life’s plan.

To apply for the job you must provide information as follows:

1. Your name, age and degree you [expect to] have earned
2. The reasons why you would like to be awarded the position
3. The specific qualifications you expect to have that qualify you for the job
4. The specific work habits you hold that will help you succeed on the job
5. How you will establish goals to help you accomplish your assigned responsibilities
6. The characteristics you have which will make you a good team member

As you carefully think through this view into your future, really make an effort to visualize yourself in your dream job.  In addition, to visualizing yourself in the job, think in detail how you will function on the job as you answer the questions above.

To research jobs you may want to apply for and the experience/qualifications required

To research successful work habits

To learn how to set goals

To learn how to visualize the accomplishment of goals

To learn anything else that will help you win that job you’ve envisioned

This must be your own work, your own thoughts and your own plan for your future. It would help to put yourself in your potential employer’s shoes and consider how he will evaluate your application. This will help you focus your application on what he/she is looking for.

When you have completed the research and thinking necessary to prepare your job application, you should design your application and cover letter, using techniques you have learned in this lab.

Finally, provide a description of the process you used to complete this project.

When completed, you are to perform a self-assessment, that is, you are to assign yourself points for each of the following categories of accomplishment.  For each of the categories you are asked to assess, you should provide an explanation to justify your assessment.
