Introducing the Hotel Front Desk Certificate
Maryland Integrated Basic Education and Skills Training (MI-BEST)
Presented by HCAT Institute and Center for Workforce Solutions
The Hotel Front Desk Skills courses are designed for individuals pursuing entry level career training in the hospitality industry. Emphasis will be placed on adult basic skills and will provide instruction on hotel front desk operations, hotel technology, exemplary customer service, professionalism and other critical business skills.
Lectures and integrated labs offer students a hands-on opportunity to gain proficiency in a front office property management system. Life skills, time management and essentials of professionalism on the job, as well as resume writing and interviewing skills are also woven into the curriculum to assist participants in the job search upon successful completion of the coursework. First Place for Team Anne Arundel - 13th Annual Gumbo Fest
Congratulations to Team Anne Arundel! Students took first place for Judge’s Choice and People’s Choice Awards at the 13th Annual Gumbo Fest held at the Doubletree Hotel Annapolis  on Sunday, February, 26, 2012.  Participating students were Lora Pumphrey, Stephanie Silva, Stephanie Bishop and Michael Williams. Proceeds went to the Lighthouse Shelter in Annapolis.
