Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Earn or renew your Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification at Anne Arundel Community College.

Taught by experienced, professional paramedics and nurses, these high quality, science-based courses are open to professional health care/medical rescue personnel. The American Heart Association (AHA) developed all of the ACLS courses and are taught using the most current materials and techniques.

NRN 513 Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
This two-day certification training will explore the importance of team management and communication, discuss systems of care and immediate post-cardiac arrest care, and examine airway management and related pharmacology. For successful completion, students must demonstrate skills competency in all learning stations, CPR AED skills test, bag mask ventilation skills test, a Megacode test and written exam, along with other critical skills. Students will receive a two-year American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS course completion card. ACLS textbook provided in class. Dress comfortably. Only for active healthcare providers whose training and scope of practice include a knowledge base surrounding the foundation of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) knowledge and skill.

NRN 514 Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Re-certification
This one-day re-certification training will review the importance of team management and communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac arrest care, and discuss airway management and related pharmacology. For successful completion, students must demonstrate skills competency in all learning stations, CPR AED skills test, bag mask ventilation skills test, a Megacode test and written exam, along with other critical skills. Students will receive a two-year American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS course completion card. ACLS re-certification textbook provided in class. Dress comfortably. Only for students who have a current (unexpired) American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) card (must present card to instructor at the beginning of the course).
