Paralegal Studies Certificate
If you currently hold a associate or bachelor's degree in nursing, you are eligible to enroll in the Nurse Paralegal Certificate Program. This option builds upon a core legal foundation necessary to all paralegals and incorporates legal specialty courses in health care law and litigation. This option prepares you for work in law firms practicing in areas of malpractice, personal injury, workers' compensation and social security disability, and for private organizations such as claims units of insurance companies. Your knowledge and experience in health care combined with your paralegal education will make you a rare commodity in the legal arena.
NURSE PARALEGAL OPTION
ABA Approved Nurse Paralegal Certificate Program
34 Credit Hours
Courses include:
Students entering the nurse paralegal certificate program must hold either a bachelor’s degree or an associate degree in nursing from a regionally accredited college or university whose program included at least 18 hours of general education courses. This program prepares you to work for insurance companies, law firms handling malpractice and personal injury cases, and as a consultant to law firms on such cases.
Please note that an official transcript from the institution from which you received your nursing degree must be on file with the AACC Registrar before a Paralegal Studies Certificate may be awarded to you. If you obtained your nursing degree from an institution outside the United States, contact the registrar's office for information on submitting your transcript.
