Advanced Medical Transcription

Anne Arundel Community College offers a nine-credit letter of recognition in Advanced Medical Transcription.

Advanced Medical Transcription

  • The Advanced Medical Transcription sequence prepares students for services as a hospital medical transcriber.
  • After completing this sequence, students will demonstrate competency in accurately transcribing hospital consultation and operative reports and discharge summaries.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Successful completion of the basic medical transcription coursework or the equivalent.

COURSE SEQUENCE

MDA-114 - Diseases of the Human Body (3)
MDA-243 - Medical Transcription--Surgical 1 (3)
MDA-245 - Medical Transcription--Pathology and Advanced Radiology 1 (3)

AWARD REQUIREMENTS

Completion of the required courses with a grade of "C" or better.
