AACC Names Chief Technology Officer

Anne Arundel Community College this month named Shirin M. Goodarzi of Arnold as its new chief technology officer.
Goodarzi has been in the position on an interim basis since the retirement of David Becker in July. As the college’s chief technology officer, Goodarzi will lead its information technologies and information services initiatives, both overseeing information management and strategy and creating and implementing the technical vision for the college.
She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Math and Computer Science and a master’s degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Goodarzi joined the college in 2002 as the applications development and support team leader before being promoted to institutional technologies manager.
Before coming to AACC, Goodarzi served as director of the Information Systems Department at Shock Trauma Center and director of information Technology Group/Data Management and System Integration at the University of Maryland Medical System. Prior to working for the university’s medical system, she was a research systems manager for six years at the Shock Trauma Research Department at the University of Maryland.
