Women's Institute Offers New Summer Noncredit Courses

Find your path to personal enrichment and empowerment at the Women’s Institute at Anne Arundel Community College by registering for one of more than a dozen new noncredit summer courses.
With 13 exciting, new continuing education courses in topics ranging from art and health to exercise and technology training, the Women’s Institute at AACC is a one-stop shop for anyone looking to expand their horizons.
Learn techniques of "Home Video Editing" (WIN 329), $75, 7 to 9 p.m. Fridays, July 7-21, and use them on your next vacation. Or, embrace your spiritual side through the breathing and movement of the Chinese exercise, "QiGong" (WIN 331), $65, 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, July 19 to Aug. 9. Some other new courses are "Herb Gardening" (WIN 323), $35, 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 18; "Holistic Health for Animals" (WST 397), $25, 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 24, and "Mosaic Projects" (WIN 324), $65, 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesdays, June 7 and 14.
All new courses offered this summer join a jam-packed schedule of 30 noncredit courses offered by the institute. Find that creative spark in everything from: "Painting Outdoor Landscapes" (WMN 374), $105; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays, May 6 and 13. Pursue "Finding a New Career" (WMN 399), $95; 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursdays, May 23 to June 13, or increase your understanding of the "Psychology of Women" (WST 306), $254, 10 to 11:55 a.m. Mondays through Thursdays, May 22 to June 29.
Costs listed are for county residents. An additional $5 is charged per noncredit course for residents of other counties and $10 per noncredit course is charged for out-of-state residents.
For specific course times and locations and a full list of summer noncredit institute courses, visit the Women's Institute on aacc.edu. Registration is limited and open to students ages 16 years and older. To avoid cancellations, register at least 10 days before the start of any class.
Registration is under way. Current and returning students can register online at myaacc.aacc.edu or through the STARS touch-tone phone system at 410-777-2241 from 5 a.m. to midnight daily. New students or those without access to the Internet may sign up by mail, fax, or in person at the Arnold campus, AACC at Arundel Mills, AACC at the Glen Burnie Town Center or the Fort Meade Army Education Center.
