AACC Trustees Elect Leaders for FY2007

July 14, 2006

Education

The Anne Arundel Community College Board of Trustees has re-elected Arthur D. Ebersberger to a third one-year term as chair and elected Gene E. Floyd to a one-year term as vice chair effective July 1.

Ebersberger, vice president of CBIZ Benefits and Insurance Services Inc., was appointed to the board in July 1998. He served as vice chair in fiscal year 2004. The Severna Park resident is active in community service, serving as chair of the board of Anne Arundel Health Systems Inc. and as a member of the boards of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce and the Maryland Economic Development Commission.

Floyd, also of Severna Park, was instrumental in the development of the AACC at the Glen Burnie Town Center site. In 1963, he founded the Floyd Company, Realtors and Appraisers of Glen Burnie, a real estate appraising, consulting and developing firm.

A member of the Northern Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce and the Anne Arundel County Private Industry Council, Floyd was appointed to AACC’s board in 1990 and has previously served as board vice chair, 1993 to 1997 and board chair, 1998 to 2000.

The AACC Board of Trustees is the governing board of the college and all members, except for the student trustee, are appointed to six-year terms by the governor.
