Education/Travel-Study
Join the more than 250,000 U.S. college students who study abroad annually and register today for a travel-study course at Anne Arundel Community College.
From Chicago’s architecture to William Shakespeare’s England to Martin Luther’s Germany, AACC offers travel-study opportunities to satisfy multiple curiosities.
"It’s a hands-on cultural and educational experience that few people their age receive, definitely one I wish I had going through school," said Michael D. Ryan, an associate professor of architecture at AACC and chair of the college’s architecture and interior design program.
Ryan leads "The Chicago Frank Lloyd Wright Experience" (ACH 260) offered June 4-11, 2007. His course is one of six travel-study options offered at AACC this academic year.
Register before Nov. 15 for two travel-study courses offered early next year. Study the history and architecture of the England of old in "History of Medieval and Renaissance England" (HIS 227) offered Jan. 1-15, 2007. Or, discover the rich heritage of Italy in "The Italian Renaissance" (HIS 281) offered Jan. 4-14, 2007.
Travel to Germany next spring and enroll in "A Visit to Luther’s Germany," from March 15-24, 2007, offered in conjunction with "The Protestant Reformation" (HIS 280).
Other travel-study courses have literary themes such as, "An Introduction to Shakespeare" (ENG 221), or are business oriented, "European Common Market" (BPA 129). Both are offered May 10-19, 2007.
Registration is under way and deadlines are approaching. Travel-study courses are offered in either credit or noncredit format. For information about registration deadlines, trip costs and itineraries, consult a fall schedule of classes.
Current and returning students can register for a travel-study course using the Internet at myaacc.aacc.edu or the STARS touch-tone phone system at 410-777-2241 from 5 a.m. to midnight daily.
