AACC Partnership Delivers Executive Training

Jul. 19, 2007

Business Education

Anne Arundel Community College is hosting an Executive Breakfast Aug. 9 in Baltimore to introduce its Balanced Scorecard training for executives of businesses and organizations in the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area.

The breakfast and presentation will be from 7-9:30 a.m.on Thursday, Aug. 9, at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore, 300 Light St., Baltimore.

Under a partnership agreement, AACC's Continuing and Professional Education programs are providing exclusive training for the popular Balanced Scorecard Management System. The system teaches managers and executives to mobilize employees to fulfill an organization's mission and to translate strategic goals into action plans.

The first how-to training seminar, "Mapping Strategy," will take place Sept. 17-18 at the Hilton Columbia, 5485 Twin Knolls Road in Columbia. The second seminar, "Cascading Strategy," occurs Nov. 12-13 at the Hilton Baltimore BWI Airport, 1739 W. Nursery Rd. in Linthicum. Those registering for one of the seminars will be eligible to win an iPhone.

AACC is working with the Balanced Scorecard Collaborative (BSCol), the research and education division of Palladium Group Inc., which offers client services in strategy, finance, key process, information and human capital. The Balanced Scorecard was created by Drs. Robert S. Kaplan and David P. Norton in 1992 and implemented in corporations, organizations and government agencies worldwide. While most organizations can successfully form strategies, independent research has proven that 70 percent fail to communicate and execute that strategy.

The Balanced Scorecard enables organizations to implement strategy rapidly and effectively by integrating a measurement system with the management system. Based on the simple premise that "measurement motivates," the Balanced Scorecard has been integral to the success of organizations throughout the world.

Registration for the breakfast is $100 per person. Pre-registration is preferred.
