Education

Anne Arundel Community College still has seats available for two March noncredit, continuing education classes offered through its Nonprofit Leadership Development program series.

Those who voluntarily serve as a board member for a community or homeowners’ association will benefit from “Homeowner/Community Association Management” (CMD 368), which is taught by two experienced attorneys from the community association field. The $69 course meets from 9 a.m.-1:15 p.m. on Saturday, March 13 and 20, at the Arnold campus.

Learn the federal, state and local governmental requirements for operating a community association, association covenants, bylaws, enforcement issues, board governance and best practices. Those completing the class will earn Continuing Education Units.

In “Building a Board and Retaining Donors” (CMD 386), learn the key elements behind building a mutually beneficial relationship with a nonprofit board of directors and its role in cultivating donors. Participants will examine a practical strategy suited to the size of the organization. The $40 class meets 9 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Friday, March 5, on the Arnold campus.

Registration is under way and continues until five days prior to the class start date. For information, call 410-777-2325 or visit www.aacc.edu/nonprofit.
