The community is invited to join Anne Arundel Community College students and alumni in a half-day event, “Preparing for Corporate Success: From College to Your Career” on Wednesday, April 21, on the Arnold campus.
This free event in the Center for Applied Learning and Technology Room 100 kicks off at 8:30 a.m. with a keynote address. Participate in two breakout sessions, an 11 a.m. employer panel discussion with audience questions and answers followed at noon by a light lunch and corporate fashion presentation.
Attend your choice of four breakout sessions offered at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.: “Business Etiquette,” “Personal and Digital Branding,” “Training and Development” and “Intercultural and Intergenerational Business Relationships.”
Employers represented on the panel include AFLAC, RxNT, Sidus Group LLC, the U.S. Marines and Verizon Wireless. They will the employment outlook, work expectations and answer audience questions.
From noon-1 p.m., enjoy a light lunch and door prize drawings while watching AACC “Dress for Success” corporate models demonstrate job interview and career attire. Local retailers are supplying the clothing modeled. Show commentary will include job-interviewing tips.
The event is sponsored by the Bank of America Foundation and AACC’s three Principal Corporate Partners -- AFLAC, Verizon Wireless and RxNT, its two Lead Corporate Partners -- U.S. Marines and Sidus Group, LLC. The program is coordinated by the AACC Student Achievement and Success Program, the college Business Management department and AACC Career and Transfer Resource Center.
