Celebration Details Announced at Press Conference

            Organizers of a local celebration commemorating the 47th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s March on Washington will discuss plans for the event at a press conference at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 9, at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial on Anne Arundel Community College’s Arnold campus.

            The “One Nation One Dream” rally and family celebration will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial. Some of the groups participating in the anniversary event include the Anne Arundel County Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Breakfast Committee, Living Waters Worship Center, Continental Society Inc. Anne Arundel Chapter and the North Arundel County Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta.

The memorial is between the Cade Center for Fine Arts and the Center of Applied Learning and Technology buildings. View a map of the college
