Auditions are set Sept. 13 and 14 for the Anne Arundel Community College Theatre at AACC fall production of “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.”
With book by Burt Shevelove and Larry Gelbart, and music by Stephen Sondheim, this classic musical comedy combines elements of ancient Rome with time-tested vaudeville. Families will enjoy this tale of the slave Pseudolus trying to gain his freedom while helping his young master gain true love.
All roles are available and open to all members of the community. Auditions begin at 7 p.m. both days in the Pascal Center for Performing Arts on the Arnold campus, 101 College Parkway. Come to one of the two audition dates. Prepare 16 bars of music from another musical and bring sheet music for the audition.
Rehearsals start Sept. 20 with performances Nov. 5-14. Directing is Lars Tatom, assistant professor of performing arts and coordinator of the AACC theater program. For information contact Tatom at 410-777-7125 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
