More than 300 college administrators and faculty members from around the state are registered to attend the fourth annual conference for the Maryland Consortium for Adjunct Faculty Professional Development (MCAPD) at Anne Arundel Community College on Saturday, Oct. 2.

Keynoting the daylong conference “Creating Success: Part-Time Faculty, Full-Time Professionals” is Lawrence C. Ragan, Ph.D., director of faculty development for the World Campus of The Pennsylvania State University. He will address “A Passion for Growth.” Ragan has presented internationally on instructional design, multimedia development and faculty development issues. Morning and afternoon workshop sessions will cover topics such as strategies for fostering critical thinking, diverse student populations and learning styles, classroom technology, student assessment techniques and faculty self-assessment.

The conference is open to part-time Maryland faculty who teach at two- and four-year colleges and universities. Preregistration is strongly recommended. View more information
