Nov. 19, 2010
Accomplish one or more of your New Year resolutions by learning how to create a new you in the new year, by exploring the wonders of another country or taking steps to rejuvenate your life. Or, give the gift of education to family and friends so they can do so!
Registration is now under way for three winter College 4-A Day programs at Anne Arundel Community College. The sessions take place in a fun, stress-free and test-free educational atmosphere and include a box lunch and College 4-A Day T-shirt. The $79 seminars meet from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on AACC’s Arnold campus, 101 College Parkway. Advance registration is required.
First up on Jan. 29 is a new offering, “New Year – New You” (CFD 314). Reinvent yourself for 2011. Learn strategies for creating a home budget and decluttering. Enjoy a healthy lunch followed by fun physical exercises and a champagne toast. Participants must be age 21 or older to enroll.
A second offering on Feb. 26, “Hungary and the Magyars” (CFD 312), enables you to explore the history, music and art of a country that was once among the cultural centers of the world. The program includes a special focus on the famous Herend porcelain, a lesson in speaking Hungarian and sampling of Tokay wine. Participants must be age 21 and up to enroll.
On March 12, jump into “Healthy Rhythms: Relax, Restore and Rejuvenate” (WIS 330). Stretch during your introduction to yoga and relax during a lesson on basic meditation. Join a women’s drumming circle to reap positive energy and take home juicing recipes that promote health and wellness.
