Beat the late winter blues with jewelry classes offered through Anne Arundel Community College at the Arnold campus. These noncredit, continuing education classes still have openings:
“Wire-Wrapped Jewelry” (CFT 356), uses different types and gauges of wire, learn to create pendants, earrings, bracelets and necklaces, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursdays, April 7-May 12, $150.
“Fuse-Glass Jewelry” (CFT 357), create a pendant, pin or fob, learning to score, cut and layer a small piece and fire it in a kiln, complete two pieces, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, March 12 or April 9, $90.
“Precious Metal Clay” (CFT 305), make jewelry from an organic clay that turns bronze or copper when fired in a kiln, create a small pendant in class, 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 9, $125.
“Wire Wrap Jewelry Workshop” (CFT 363), learn about tools and wire gauges to produce wire-wrap earrings, pendants and bracelets and create a piece to take home, 9:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 19, $89.
Classes are taught by experienced artist instructors and designed to be fun and informative. Class size is limited to enhance the learning experience.
