Computer science major Roy Clark of Arnold is Anne Arundel Community College’s first recipient of the Armed Forces Communications & Electronics Association (AFCEA) Central Maryland Chapter’s endowed scholarship.
After working at an audio visual company for six years, Clark enrolled at AACC and became eligible for the scholarship established at the college by AFCEA earlier this year. AFCEA established a $25,000 scholarship endowment to benefit a student majoring in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) who demonstrates financial need as defined by the AACC Financial Aid office. Clark received the $500 scholarship this spring and was honored at a recent AFCEA Awards Dinner with other AFCEA scholarship recipients from around the state.
AACC is the first community college in Maryland supported by the AFCEA CMD scholarship program. The scholarship is open to community contributions to enable AACC to increase the number of annual scholarship awards.
