Anne Arundel Community College is issuing a call for entries for its annual national juried show. This year’s exhibit will focus on artworks displaying utopias, new visions and better places.
All submissions must be postmarked by Oct. 6, with the exhibit scheduled Nov. 10-Dec. 9, in the Cade Center for Fine Arts Gallery on the Arnold campus at 101 College Parkway.
Juror for the exhibit is Jeffrey Cudlin, professor of curatorial studies at the Maryland Institute College of Art. Cudlin also is a freelance writer for the Washington Post and the Washington City Paper. As part of the exhibit, Cudlin will give a juror’s talk at noon, Nov. 10, followed by a reception from 6-8 p.m. The talk and reception are free.
Artists may submit up to six digital files on a CD, preferably in a PowerPoint or Adobe slide show format. Number each digital file and mark each file with the artist’s name, the title of the work, medium, dimensions and year of completion. The files need to be accompanied by an entry form and a $20 check or money order payable to Anne Arundel Community College. Notifications of acceptance will be mailed Oct. 18.
The entry form is available at www.aacc.edu/cadegallery/nationaljuried.cfm. For information, contact Chris Mona at 410-777-7028 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
