The Anne Arundel Community College Foundation Inc. invites alumni and friends of the college to join in the college’s 50th Anniversary Celebration of educational excellence at its annual black-tie gala on Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Roger W. “Pip” Moyer Community Recreation Center in Annapolis.
Share your golden memories of AACC at this fundraiser to benefit student scholarships and important academic initiatives. Corporate, family and nonprofit organization sponsorship opportunities are still available at the signature, platinum, gold, silver and bronze levels.
Those attending will enjoy delicious cuisine provided by The Main Ingredient of Annapolis and dance the night away to the music of Bobby and the Believers (www.thebelievers.com), an 11-piece versatile band from Joppatowne, Md., that performs funk, soul, rhythm and blues and Big Band top 40 dance and party hits from the 1960s to today.
Doors open at 6 p.m. for a cocktail reception with music by the AACC Jazz Ensemble. Guests can mingle and enjoy college exhibits highlighting the history of AACC and the diversity of its programs as well as bid on items donated by individuals and businesses to the gala silent auction and live auction. Donations of auction items are still being accepted and can be made to the foundation. Dinner service begins at 7:15 p.m. followed by a program and dancing.
Tickets are $200 per person online at www.aacc.edu/foundation/events/gala. For information or to make a donation to the auctions, contact the foundation at 410-777-2515 or email@example.com.
