Praxis Engineering, headquartered in Annapolis Junction, recently donated $25,000 to Anne Arundel Community College to establish an endowed scholarship fund to benefit full-time students majoring in computer science, technical studies, engineering, or mathematics.
Praxis selected AACC because of its national reputation and leadership role in cyber education. The college has several classrooms specifically equipped with the latest cybersecurity technology to train students and prepare them for a career in cybersecurity.
“We are very excited about the tremendous work AACC is doing in the STEM arena, particularly the college’s focus on the cybersecurity field,” stated Jerry Schepers, Vice President, Sales, Marketing, and Business Development at Praxis. “We are proud to be a small part of helping this valuable program, and the students it serves. Additionally, one of Praxis Engineering’s core values is social awareness and, as a corporation, Praxis believes it is important to give back to, and invest in, the local communities in which we work and live.”
To be considered for the Praxis Engineering Endowed Scholarship, students must be U.S. citizens, demonstrate financial need as established by the AACC Financial Aid office and be Anne Arundel County High School graduates.
