WHAT: See 15 or more teams of college students, faculty and community members pull an empty delivery box truck with a rope over a short, marked course on the Anne Arundel Community College Arnold campus. The teams of five will compete against the clock for prizes at this Inaugural AACC Truck Pull and Business Showcase.
Ten transportation, logistics and supply chain companies and industry associations will set up booths, tables and displays providing information on the industry, career opportunities and job listings. Participants in the Business Showcase component of the event include CSX, FedEx, Ian International, Maryland Motor Truck Association, Maryland Port Administration, Rukert Terminals, Securitas Security Services and UPS. CSX is bringing a rail truck, Rukert is bringing several trucks and UPS is bringing a 20-foot tractor-trailer.
WHEN: 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, March 28.
WHERE: Parking Lot C on the college’s Arnold campus at 101 College Parkway.
WHY: The Truck Pull is being held in connection with the Institute of Supply Management proclaiming March as Supply Management Month. Its sponsor is the AACC Transportation, Logistics and Supply Chain Management program.
