Screen the top short video entries submitted to the 3rd annual juried AACC Student Video Festival and participate in an audience Q&A with the artists at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 21, in the Humanities Building Room 112.
This free event features a cumulation of about an hour of video and audio works by current AACC students or former students enrolled in a class in the last two years. The top picks are by festival juror KJ Mohr, filmmaker, curator and director of mediamakers at the Baltimore Creative Alliance and director of programming for the Tampa International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival. Mohr has worked in film and electronic arts for nearly 20 years as a programmer, organizer, curator, educator, filmmaker, and administrator.
Last year, the audience was packed with more than 100 people who saw works by about 20 AACC students. Doors will open for the show at 6:45 p.m. and the screening begins at 7 p.m.
Films for this festival must be five minutes or less in length. The event is sponsored by AACC Visual Arts Department, which offers classes in film studies and analysis, video production and editing as well as degrees, certificates and a letter of recognition.
