Enter Health Care Field with Two New Programs at AACC

Jan. 22, 2013

Explore new health care careers with two new continuing professional education programs that begin in early February at Anne Arundel Community College.

Aimed at people interested in starting a career in health care, both the Medical Records and Health Information Technician and the Central Sterile Processing Technician programs are offered by AACC in partnership with MK Education, an education consulting company that specializes in health care training.

The Medical Records and Health Information Technician program is for people interested in the business side of health care. Learn about electronic health records during 80 hours of classroom experience and then put the knowledge to use during 20 hours of a simulated lab. The class meets on Monday and Wednesday evenings, Feb. 4-May 15. Visit www.aacc.edu/healthcare/records for details about the program.

Central sterile processing technicians work in surgical laboratories disinfecting and decontaminating surgical tools used during surgery and other medical procedures. Complete 100 hours of classroom experience and 120 hours in a simulation lab. The class meets on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturdays, Feb. 5-June 22. Visit www.aacc.edu/healthcare/sterile for details about the program.
