Verdi's 'Macbeth' and the Barnes Collection

Add some extra culture to your life with a trip to an operatic concert or a visit to an arts and antiquities collection through two field trips organized by Anne Arundel Community College.
Sign up for the noncredit course, “Enjoy the Opera: Verdi’s Macbeth” (MUC 303), where you will learn about the history and plot of the opera and then hear an operatic concert presented by Baltimore Concert Opera performers at the Garrett Jacobs Mansion in Baltimore. Electronic English subtitles will guide the audience during the performance.
The field trip runs from 12:30-4:30 p.m. Sunday , March 3, with registration due Feb. 8 to avoid trip cancellation. The $64 cost includes round-trip bus transportation from the Arnold campus and admission to the matinee. No senior discounts are available. Participants may bring a lunch or snack to eat on the bus to the performance.
Enroll in the noncredit course, “Albert Barnes and the Barnes Collection” (HRY 365) for a trip to the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia. The group will meet on the Arnold campus on the evening of April 11, to learn about Albert Barnes and how he amassed a collection of impressionist, post-impressionist and modernist artworks in addition to ancient artifacts and furnishings. AACC will provide round-trip bus transportation from the Arnold campus to the Barnes Foundation on Saturday, April 13, to see the collection. The cost is $74. No senior discounts are available. Early registration is strongly encouraged as seating is limited. Registration deadline is March 15. Participants may bring a lunch to eat on the bus or purchase food on site.
