AACC Men’s Lacrosse Team Donates $1,200 to Combat Breast Cancer

Anne Arundel Community College’s Men’s Lacrosse team was playing in a tournament at Washington College to benefit breast cancer. The team wore pink shoelaces for the cause, but the players thought just wearing pink shoelaces wasn’t enough and decided to make a donation to the American Cancer Society toward breast cancer research. They decided that each of the 40 players would donate $5 and the coaches and staff would match the donation. Instead, the players’ donation came to $600, so with the matching $600 from the coaching staff, the total donated was $1,200. With the check to the American Cancer Society are, from left, Arundel High graduate Timothy Brown of Odenton (#27); Arundel High graduate Tyler Heward of Gambrills (#5); North County graduate Carson Bekken of Severn (#10); and Glen Burnie graduate Logan Harthman of Glen Burnie.
