What is the training and what awards or certifications will I earn?
Successfully complete two noncredit courses to be prepared to take the American Payroll Association (APA) Certified Payroll Professional Exam and earn a certificate in payroll administration from the APA. Students will also earn an AACC continuing education certificate.

What does it cost?
Tuition and fees for the two noncredit courses together cost approximately $1,530 for Anne Arundel County residents. Prices are subject to change.
What are the prerequisites for the certified payroll professional courses?
There are no prerequisites for enrolling in the courses. To be eligible for the Certified Payroll Professional examination, one must have been practicing in the payroll profession a total of three years out of the preceding five years from the date of the examination, with direct involvement in any of the following:
How do I take the certification examination?
The CPP exam consists of 180 multiple choice questions and 20 pre-test questions. Four hours are allotted to complete the exam. Reservations for the examination can be scheduled by calling the Assessment Systems, Inc. Candidate Care Center at 1-800-470-8757. Reservations can be made up to three months in advance of a test date.
