The Performing Arts department offers a wide array of courses from entry level, general education core courses to advanced classes designed to prepare students for vocations in the field of Dance, Music, and Theater, and to transfer to colleges and universities for further study.

Songs I Love To Sing

Soprano Mary Anne Barcellona accompanied by pianist James Harp -- Italian, French and American art songs of the 19th and 20th centuries.-- at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, at the Anne Arundel Community College Humanities Recital Hall, room 112 on the Arnold campus.

The Telephone  and  The Medium

Opera AACC performs (in English) two contemporary one-act operas by Gian Carlo Menotti. This double bill of two constrasting works, comic and tragic, dating from 1947, still holds the record for the longest run of opera on Broadway. Directed by Jennifer Blades and conducted by Douglas Brandt Byerly with the AACC Chamber Orchestra; at the Pascal Center for Performing Arts.

This new adaptation, by Jeffrey Hatcher, of the classic tale of split personalities, is based on the classic novella by Robert Louis Stevenson. A man of science releases his inner evil by drinking a potion. Suitable for ages 12 and up. Directed by Lars Tatom; at the Pascal Center for Performing Arts.

The History of Rock Opera

AACC Concert Choir, AACC Chamber Orchestra and guest artists perform excerpts from "Hair," “Jesus Christ Superstar,” “Rent,” “Tommy” and “Spring Awakening;”;  directed by Douglas Brandt Byerly, and department chair of performing arts; at the Pascal Center; with the AACC Rock Orchestra.
