PHO-306 - The New Photography: Digital
Explore the capabilities of compact and single-lens reflux digital cameras digital camera from how it operates to final image output. Learn how to take well composed and properly exposed photos using flash and natural light. Discover how to view, store, organize, back up and print images as well as create slide shows, email and post images to the Web.

PHO-328 - Digital Camera Operation: Level 1
Learn about your digital camera operations including focus, controlling exposure, memory devices, manual adjustments, and flash and filters.

PHO-340 - Photographing Nature with Your Digital Camera NEW, ONLINE 
Learn how to take beautiful photos of landscapes, water, trees, animals and more. Discuss digital camera equipment, telephoto techniques and macro photography.

PHO-341 - Secrets of Better Photography NEW, ONLINE 
Enhance your photography skills by mastering basic exposure and lighting techniques. Learn how to photograph portraits, landscapes and still lifes.  

PHO-343 - Travel Photography Using a Digital Camera NEW, ONLINE 
Explore the art of travel photography. Learn about focal points, depth of field, shooting fast-moving objects, underwater photos, low or mixed light situations, protecting equipment in all climates, shooting from the air, capturing urban settings and metering options.

PHO-344 - Photographing People Using a Digital Cameras NEW ONLINE
Discover the best approach for shooting portraits, formal groups and faces. Learn how to arrange a sitting, set moods, create themes and editing techniques. Explore action photos and creative ways to photograph children, babies and pets.

ATS-318 - Digital Photography  CREDIT/NONCREDIT
Introduces the technology and terminology of digital camera photography, image editing software and methods for final presentation in print and on screen. Each student must provide a manual operation, white light balanced controlled digital camera memory card, external digital data storage device and mat board.

ATS-308 - Black and White Photography CREDIT/NONCREDIT
An introduction to black-and-white photography. Included are fundamentals of the camera, film and darkroom processes necessary for the production of quality black-and-white prints. Students are required to provide a manual operation 35mm, single-lens reflex camera, a film processing tank, close-up lenses, film and photographic paper.

ARS 369 - History of Photography CREDIT/NONCREDIT
An historical overview of the development of photography from its prehistory through today. The course includes the study of the interrelationships between photography and the visual arts, the effects of changing technologies on the photographic image, and the contributions of major photographers, art movements, social and historical perspectives. Slide lectures will be supplemented by field trips to museums in the Baltimore-Washington area. No previous art courses are necessary.
