Health, Fitness & Exercise Studies

Associate of Science Degree
For those interested in pursuing professional training, transferring to four-year institution or gaining personal enrichment in a health & fitness or related field.

Provides foundation to pursue careers in the fitness industry (personal training, corporate specialist pre-athletic training) massage, respiratory, cardiopulminary or physical therapist, or other related allied health careers.

Personal Trainer

Certificate
Gain a background in basic exercise principles, health screening, fitness assessments, nutrition, communication and exercise program design within the current fitness industry standards.
Letter of Recognition
Enroll in a cluster of courses appropriate for individuals currently in the fitness industry who wish to improve their knowledge base and/or are seeking to be more marketable as a personal trainer.

Science Diver

Letter of Recognition
For those interested in working and volunteering for assignments involving underwater habitat assessment.

Our Fitness Center offers state-of-the-art equipment.

Important things to know:

In some course sections you may choose the option of learning through community service as part of your course work.
Students in PHE courses are required to complete an Accidental Injury Waiver Form (PDF) and may not participate in the course until the form has been provided to the instructor.
Accidental Injury Waiver Forms (PDF) may also be picked up at the Health & PE office, GYM 208 or at the Records and Registration office on the first floor of Student Services Center on the Arnold campus (PDF).
PHE courses are not open to students under the age of 16.
A $6 physical education fee per term is charged to students enrolled in PHE courses.
