“If I had the choice to go to another college, I wouldn’t. I would definitely choose AACC again.”
Erica Cornish started taking classes at AACC in the fall of 2004. Because of her desire to start her own business, Erica decided to major in business management with a focus on entrepreneurial studies. She recently applied for a scholarship through the Entrepreneurial Studies Institute.
Erica has a full schedule. In addition to being a full-time student, she works part time at the Truxal Library on the Arnold campus. Erica is also very active in dance. She has been dancing for 10 years and belongs to the APGADS Drum and Dance Ensemble in Baltimore. This nationally and internationally known group will be performing during Multicultural Week in April at AACC. Erica also teaches dance around Maryland for her church. In the fall, she will be sharing her talents by teaching for Kids in College.
“What I like most about AACC is the warmness of the people,” said Erica. “They are willing to give you the helping hand you need. There are also many opportunities here, including the different programs, the scholarships, and employment. If I had the choice to go to another college, I wouldn’t. I would definitely choose AACC again.’
Erica is planning to graduate in 2008. She hopes to transfer to Memphis State, since most of her family lives in Tennessee. After she finishes college, she wants to start a family catering business with her mother.
