Aikido students with wooden swords

AACC offers noncredit courses in various Martial Arts. Developed over centuries for use in combat, the martial arts were adapted to civilian purposes in the 19th and 20th centuries. Instead of seeking to kill or injure opponents, they increasingly focused on the development of mental discipline, physical competence, moral behavior, and self-defense. Highly skilled instructors certified in their art provide instruction in the history and skills of Aikido, Jujitsu and Karate.
