Course Search – Option Selection

Search Tips

  • Hold your mouse over the icon for help with each specific control.
  • Course Type and a Way to take a Class are required fields.
  • If more than one way to take a class is selected, then a subject, course number, course keyword, or instructor is required to search unless you have selected a Special Course option.
  • You can refine your search by using more than one field.
  • You can also search for a course by using the express course search located on the top of every web page.
Course Type Help

How to use this control
Choose Credit, Noncredit, or Both for your search. At least one type must be selected.

Credit Classes
Count toward degree, certificate and letter of recognition programs; many credits will transfer to four-year colleges and universities.

Noncredit Classes
Are excluded from your grade point average but are counted in course load. Some classes lead to a certificate of completion, help you become licensed or certified or prepare you to take a certification exam.

How to use this control
Check the box next to the type of course you wish to attend. You must select at least one course. By default, all boxes are checked and the search results will generate all the ways to take a class. Hold your mouse over each type to view its description.

How to use this control
Use the drop down menu to search for a specific term. If a specific term is not selected, the results will generate classes in all terms.

View terms that are no longer available for registration. This information is provided for historical purposes only.

Special Courses Help

How to use this control
Check one of the Special Courses boxes you wish to attend to filter results based on the box you selected. You can only check one Special Course box at a time. This control is not required for searching. Hold your mouse over each Special Course to view its description.

How to use this control
Search for a specific course by using one of the following search options: keyword, location, subject, course number, or instructor. You must complete one of the search options to generate results.

Keyword Search
Type a keyword to search for titles and descriptions of courses. Type a single word only (i.e. math).

Location Search Tips
Use the dropdown menu to select a specific campus location. Otherwise, it will default to include all location results.

Subject Search Tips
Use the dropdown menu to select a specific subject. Otherwise, it will default to include all subject results.

C: Credit
NC: Noncredit

Course Number Search Tips
Enter only the numeric portion of the course number here. For example, if you are looking for MAT-101, enter only 101.

Instructor Search Tips
Type the instructor's full name or part of the name if the full name is unknown. Searching by last name first may yield better results.
