Anne Arundel Community College offers a wide variety of service-learning projects, matching course learning objectives with community needs. The Center for Learning through Service helps to facilitate the student placement process, supporting individual placements as well as class group projects.

Project examples:

  • Sociology students provided social visits to older adults in assisted living homes while learning about the aging process.
  • Business statistics students conducted a survey to determine housing conditions for Anne Arundel County residents. 
  • Marketing students developed sales and marketing skills while promoting the college's annual Global Giving Market to benefit those in need around the world.
  • Architecture students participated in Canstruction®, designing and building structures out of cans of food that are donated to local emergency food programs at the end of the event.
