Academic Support - ACCUPLACER Basics

Learn the basics about ACCUPLACER testing.

What is ACCUPLACER?

ACCUPLACER is a placement exam which provides useful information about your current academic skills in math, English, and reading. The results of the assessment are used by academic advisors to determine your course selection.

ACCUPLACER is not a  "pass" or "fail" test! However, it is very important that you do your very best on these tests so that you will have an accurate measure of your skills.

Where do I take it?

AACC has three locations for you to take the exam. Please access the PDF for specific information or call the main testing center for additional information at 410-777-2315.

What do I bring?

  • YOU MUST have a photo ID.
  • College ID number.
  • Calculator – If you do not have one, one will be provided.

How do I prepare?

Make sure you give yourself time. This is not a timed test and it is important that we capture an accurate reflection of your skills.

Access the sample test online to practice skills and get an idea of how test questions are presented. Sample Test
