All students enrolled in courses using the learning management system, Canvas, will have access to an online orientation. The orientation introduces the tools and features of the LMS, as well as provides tips and strategies for being successful in the online environment. Access the orientation from the Help menu on the Dashboard in Canvas, or from any course in Canvas from the course navigation bar.
First-time online students are automatically "enrolled" in the online orientation (VCO 101), and will have access to it through the Courses link on the Dashboard. To access the orientation:
- Log in to MyAACC;
- Look for the "My Classroom - Virtual Campus" web part (right-hand side of the page);
- Click on "Access my courses" which will open the Dashboard in Canvas;
- Click on the Courses link on the Global Navigation menu on left side of the Dashboard (see image below), and select VCO 101.
To best be prepared for your online course, complete the orientation prior to starting your online course.
Note: Although you have access to the orientation early, you will not have access to your course until three days prior to the course start date. At that time, some course materials may be available.
For your convenience, the Technology Learning Center - (TLC) LBRY 101, or the Computer Commons, CRSC 264, Arnold campus, will also be available to assist students with logging into Canvas.
TLC hours (follow the same hours as the Andrew Truxal Library.)
